As many of you have already heard, we are incredibly proud to announce that Belem García, Mariana Fortes, and Balam García have been selected to represent Mexico at the 2026 Pickleball World Cup in Vietnam in their respective categories. 🇲🇽🏓🇻🇳
When we learned about this incredible opportunity, we knew we wanted to help.
Although SCPC had already planned to host a summer tournament to help fund the club’s alcohol permit, we felt this was the perfect opportunity to support our athletes as well. That idea became MEX I CAN – Tournament with a Cause.
The tournament was only the beginning. Since then, we’ve reached out to local media, launched a dedicated fundraising campaign within our community, and began accepting donations through SCPC’s U.S. 501(c)(3), allowing donations from U.S. taxpayers to be tax deductible. To make every contribution go even further, Gary and Tibby Levinson generously committed to matching every donation made through the 501(c)(3), dollar for dollar. ❤️
After an incredible fundraising tournament and our first week of donations, here’s where we stand:

✈️ Together we have already raised approximately USD $3,000.00 dedicated exclusively to helping our athletes travel to Vietnam, bringing them halfway toward their USD $6,000 fundraising goal. That goal represents our estimated minimum funding needed to cover the athletes’ essential travel expenses based on current costs. We also want to recognize that our athletes have been working hard to secure sponsorships on their own. This has truly become a community effort, and we are proud to see everyone contributing in different ways. Every donation, every sponsor, every tournament registration, every share, and every word of encouragement is helping bring Team Mexico one step closer to Vietnam 2026.

Through our collective effort, the Club raised $22,275 MXN (approximately $1,283 USD) during the tournament toward the Middle Area Improvement Project an improvement that we will all be able to enjoy. ❤️🏓🇲🇽

PROJECTS WE ARE WORKING ON AT SCPC TEAM
Building the Next Chapter of Our Club
The Board and Management are currently finalizing the architectural plans for the completion of the perimeter wall, a new entrance, and an additional space for handouts and community activities at the club. Once the architectural plans are submitted and approved, construction will begin. The completion of the purchase and sale of the adjacent lot has made this project possible by providing the club with the remaining funds needed to complete these improvements. We are especially grateful to the buyers who, years ago, took a leap of faith and signed a purchase agreement, making a significant payment in advance based on a future market value. At the time, they understood that obtaining the final deed could take up to four years. Their willingness to support the project helped make possible the initial construction of the club’s 14 courts.
Now, with the completion of the sale, the club is receiving the remaining payment from the land transaction. Those funds will allow us to take the final steps toward completing the perimeter wall, entrance, and new community space—bringing us one step closer to completing the vision we started years ago. We are deeply appreciative of the buyers’ patience, trust, and commitment to the club’s long-term vision. Their leap of faith helped build the foundation of what San Carlos Pickleball Club is today, and their continued support is helping us complete the next chapter.

🏓✨FUTURE OF PICKLEBALL INSTRUCTION AT SCPC ✨🏓
As many of you have been asking what comes next for instruction at the club, we wanted to share a brief update. We have recently been contacted by a few instructors and club members who are interested in teaching at SCPC, and we truly appreciate the interest and enthusiasm.
At the moment, the management team is taking the time to carefully plan this next chapter. Kevin and the management team have agreed to hold a brainstorming meeting to exchange ideas, gather insights, and help shape the future of instruction and the academy at San Carlos Pickleball Club.
Kevin is supportive of this next chapter, and we are grateful for his insight, experience, and guidance as we begin planning what comes next.
We kindly ask everyone to give us this month to thoughtfully plan, organize, and fine-tune the next phase. There is a strong future ahead for instruction at SCPC, and we want to make sure we build it responsibly, collaboratively, and with a clear vision.
Kevin is not leaving San Carlos immediately. After living here for several years, this will not be an overnight transition, and we will have time to properly recognize his contributions and give him the farewell he deserves.
At the same time, Kevin is preparing something very exciting for his own future venture, and both the management team and San Carlos Pickleball Club will continue to support him. In fact, we are proud to be the first customer testing the beta version of his new platform.
We look forward to Kevin sharing more about his venture when he is ready, and we will share more about the future of instruction at SCPC as our plans develop.

SCPC BEYOND THE COURTS & SAN CARLOS
Somewhere along the way, pickleball became so much more than a game. ❤️
It became the friends we never expected to meet. The place where we laugh, compete, move, connect and belong. A community that crosses ages, languages, borders and countries. 🌎 Here in our little corner of Mexico, we’ve watched that happen every single day. Friendships formed at the club now extend far beyond the pickleball courts. These photos are just a small example of the community we’ve built—one that brings people together and truly crosses borders.
SOCIAL IMPACT PROGRAM
Our Kids Pickleball Program has continued without interruption throughout the spring and summer, bringing together children from Ancla de Amor Orphanage and kids from our local community every Monday for an afternoon filled with learning, play, friendship, and connection.
Just like last summer, we wanted to create more opportunities for the kids to enjoy their school vacation. This year, we introduced a new tradition: Pool Parties hosted by different members of our community!
This past Mondays, Mariel and Darren hosted the pool partys of the month. Mia had the time of her life welcoming the kids and joining in the fun.
The staff at Ancla de Amor Orphanage has shared how grateful they are for the love and support shown by our pickleball community. They remind us that these experiences are about much more than a few hours of fun — they help children feel included, valued, and loved. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” We are incredibly proud that the San Carlos Pickleball Club community has become part of that village.
SUMMER IN SAN CARLOS IS BOOMING!

These groups will continue all summer long, giving everyone the opportunity to keep playing, improve their game, and—just as importantly—enjoy time together off the courts throughout the summer, also creating opportunities to socialize, with fun gatherings both at the courts and in members’ homes, like the great get-together yesterday at Karen & Ron´s house court. ❤️ Because pickleball is about more than just playing—it’s about the people, the friendships, and the community we build along the way. 🤝🔥 Pelotas de Fuego = Play.
