We’ll have Open Play every morning. Everyone will find someone fun to play with. All ages and abilities will be welcome and find somewhere to play.
We’re also planning round robins, leagues, small fun tournaments and competitive large tournaments. You’ll be able to book the courts during certain hours for private play. And, of course, we’ll have all-club social get togethers!
Please Help Make the Dream a Reality
The new 14 court facility is a great Community Project and something that San Carlos can be proud of. It will be a place for exercise, fun and friendship and a community hub.
We’ve created a GoFundMe campaign.
Please donate now
Every little bit helps. Thank you in advance.
Please get in touch with me (Christa Thomas) at: christa@whatsupsancarlos.com if you would like to donate a more significant amount. We have several court sponsorships and commemorative bricks of various levels that recognize the donations that went above and beyond to make this project a success. You can have your name or business name on a court or on the sponsors’ wall. You can read more about it on our website.
Please consider buying a brick. Bricks will be prominently featured on a beautiful focal accent wall just inside the court entrance / exit. The following levels are available:
- $2500 USD or more (50,000 pesos) Platinum
- $1000 USD (20,000 pesos) Gold
- $500 USD (10,000 pesos) Silver
- $250 USD (5000 pesos) Bronze
Update on Construction
We’ve had an exceptionally rainy summer which has caused some rain delays. We’re still on track to open November 1 and will be ready for the first week of festivities and the November 18 tournament. But, the facility will be a construction zone for awhile as we continue to work on the buildings at the front of the facility (where we’ll have bathrooms, office, storage and a pro shop). This shouldn’t affect your play on the courts.
We have the funds to complete the courts and wall and at least one side of the building.
Since the bricks arrived on August 24, the wall has been going up at a good pace. Every court will have air flow bricks placed in a pleasing design.
6 courts have asphalt. All 6 have been sealed, and the fence holes and net holes are done.
Championship court, the 7th court on the north side, has been leveled and is ready to be built.
We have 14 net & post sets, generously donated by Gearbox.
We worked with an architect on designing the front building and have submitted it to Control Urbano in Guaymas for the building permit.
Here are the 6 completed courts, each measuring 20 x 10.5. Ready to be painted a beautiful sand and sea color theme.
Here’s a sneak peak at our wall design with the airflow bricks. This shows the design for 1 court.
Look how big championship court will be (the smoothed area in the photo). The two 14 x 23.5 championship courts should be big enough for even our most athletic high flyers. This court will be finished in the next week. We’ll then start on the 7 courts on the south side of the facility.
Look how beautiful the area is!
Hello, a small group of players are coming to San Carlos next week. When is Open Play or Skill-Level Play?
Open Play is every morning but Sunday when there’s a round robin that you’re also welcome to join.
