Pro pickleballer, Helle Sparre, brought her Dynamite Doubles training program to San Carlos.
End of the Season Pickle Party, March 28
Saturday, March 28 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Mirador Courts.
Many people are starting to pack up and travel back to their homes. Let’s send our friends off with a final Open Play Pickle Party.
We’ll have El Pollo Lopez Chicken and Papas, Bloody Mary’s, and an assortment of other beverages to enjoy while playing and socializing.
Meet and give feedback to the new board members that are already looking ahead to next season and more great events.
RSVP to destinationpickleball@yahoo.com (James Main) by Saturday, March 21 so we have enough food and drinks for all.

Changes to the Board
It has been an honor and a privilege to be the San Carlos Pickleball Association President for the past 3 years. We have successfully grown the sport of pickleball throughout San Carlos, and have grown the memberships at Mirador Courts — currently we have 161 annual memberships, 93 monthly, and 74 weekly.
While it is always nice to improve my skills and win a game or two, my greater joy was to hear the laughter at the courts and see how Mirador Courts has become a fun, social hub for all of our members.
Both Christa Thomas and I will be stepping down from the Board, effective immediately. As most of you know, we are the owners of What’s Up San Carlos, and the high season for pickleball is also the high season for our business — and we just don’t have the time to do both well. I want to thank Christa for all her time and efforts on the Board. And realistically, we will still both continue to volunteer with the pickleball club, just not as Board members.
The Club itself would not be as great as it is without the many volunteers who help throughout the year — whether it is being part of the Sombrero Showdown & Amigos Cup international tournament, or the day-to-day duties like re-filling the water jugs at Mirador Courts, watering the palm trees, picking up garbage, sweeping around the courts, etc. These are Your courts, so as everyone chips in a little bit — it helps us all!
I know that you will continue to help and support the new Board, which will be led by James Main. It is always good to have some new blood and fresh ideas. Please do take the time to fill in the survey above so that the Club takes your opinions into account as they move forward. Thank you, and see you on the courts! by Sue Fehrle
