Summer Specials on Mirador Court Memberships

Not a member of Mirador Courts yet? Since there are fewer players at Mirador Courts over the summertime, there are more courts available.

To that end, we are introducing two different Summer Specials so that you can play!

1) Day Pass price is now only 50 pesos per day ($2.50 USD), a 50% discount from the regular 100 pesos, from July 1, 2018 – September 30, 2018.
You can purchase a Day Pass and complete your membership form at Seaside Realty.

2) You can purchase next year’s Annual Membership plus a summer membership for 1800 ($90 USD) pesos. This will cover you until September 30, 2019.

If you’re in town and not yet a Mirador Courts member, but would like to participate in the drills, clinics, and open play detailed below, take advantage of one of these great options.

Skills & Drills & Sunset Games on Mondays and Wednesdays

Starting next Monday, July 9 at 6:00pm, join Darren Thompson and friends at Mirador Courts for Skills & Drills, followed by evening play until the sun goes down.

All levels are welcome.

We plan to run the Skills & Drills & Sunset Games on Mondays and Wednesdays each week, starting at 6:00pm.

On some days we’ll include the ball machine, which is an invaluable tool allowing players to practice certain shots to improve consistency. Come on out and improve your skills with some of the top players in San Carlos.

Registration opens next week for Sombrero Showdown & Amigo’s Cup, February 7 – 11, 2019

Registration opens on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 8:00am.

The tournament was so successful last year, it’s bound to fill quickly this year. We’ve added an additional day so that mixed doubles games will be best 2 out of 3 (versus one game to 15), which allows for more play. So, if you’re interested in playing, find your partners and make sure you sign up on July 12th. Click here for more information and to register.

Paddles for sale

We have new Paddletek pickleball paddles for sale. You do not pay any taxes or shipping fees.

The following are available:

Club: $50 USD or 1000 pesos.
Element: $75 USD or 1500 pesos.

Franklin X-40 pickleballs provided by Club at Mirador Courts

Another benefit of joining Mirador Courts — we are supplying the balls for play. At this time, we are using the Franklin balls.

These balls are marked CLUB. Feel free to use them for your games and then return them to the ball holders (pictured). If your CLUB ball breaks, please put it in the green marked bin. We are keeping track of the balls and breakage, so please do not take these broken balls from the bin. Thank you.

New USAPA Player Rating System

The USAPA will roll out a new player rating system next Monday, July 9, for those players who play in tournaments. As you can imagine, they encountered many obstacles in their journey to provide an accurate and fair rating system for all tournament players.

There are lots of questions you may have and most of these will be answered on their FAQ regarding the system. If you are a USAPA member, log into the USAPA website and you can review the past tournaments you’ve played in, including the Sombrero Showdown. Click on “Click Here for Ratings Info” located just beneath your basic information. Check these out and if anything is missing or needs corrections, you should email: MatchReview@PickleballTournaments.com with the correct information.
