Christmas Posada: Thursday, December 15
Join us for a Pickleball Posada on Thursday, December 15, starting at 5:00pm at La Calaca Restaurant.
We will have live music, dancing, a Piñata and lots of fun!
There are 3 Dinner Taco options to choose from:
Option 1: Carne tacos for 300 pesos
Option 2: Seafood tacos for 300 pesos
Option 3: Veggie tacos for 280 pesos
All dinners include sides: Mexican Rice, Refried Beans, Rajas “Roasted Chiles” and Street Churros for dessert, plus a late night snack of Coctel de Elote “Mexican Corn Cocktail”. A 15% tip is also already included.
Guests will open separate bar tabs for their drinks, paying with cash only please.
There is limited seating capacity of 100 people so please get your tickets early. Tickets will be sold in advance by First Step Team at VIVE Real Estate office in Plaza Arrecifes (behind ARCO gas station). A reminder that we’ll be outdoors (the restaurant has heat lamps) so please dress accordingly.
This event is supporting an initiative named Grandes Niños de Pickleball (for kids of La Manga and Guaymas).
When you purchase your event ticket at VIVE Real Estate, please consider taking a name from the Christmas tree who you will purchase a gift for.
During the posada, we’ll collect all the Christmas gifts and give them to the kids at their scheduled posada. Let’s donate at least 40 gifts among our club. This was an annual tradition at the Soggy Peso and we’re happy to help Frank and Lisa (also owners of La Calaca) keep it going.
GLP Tournament: December 16 – 18
Back by popular demand, it’s the Grandes Ligas de Pickleball Weekend Tournament!
Each player is guaranteed 4 matches (8 games) plus the Round Robin on Friday.

A dry-fit GLP jersey is included in your registration fee. Registered players must click here to order their shirt size (based on men’s sizes). If you don’t send it then you may not get your desired size. If you are not planning to play in this tournament but want to purchase a jersey, you can also do this in the same link (order now, pay the 350 pesos cost for the shirt later).

New Court Construction Update
Two coats of paint are on the first 7 courts. The perimeter fences are up. The 3rd and final coat of paint and white lines will be applied this week (fingers crossed for no more rain). Then the nets will go up. After a couple days to dry, the courts will be ready to play on.
If we’re able – no promises – some of the December GLP Tournament will be played on the new courts. We’ll keep you posted on that – it’s what we’re working towards. We would then also be able to play the Friday GLP events at the new courts. Until we finish the center area and other 7 courts, we are not going to open the facility to Open Play. But we’ll start trying to free up Mirador so there’s more time spots for booking a court there.
The second crew is scheduled to arrive next week to get started on the next 7 courts.
We’re still waiting on the architect to finalize the plans. We have been told we’ll at least have the plan for the center area this week and can get going on that area.
