The snowbird season has officially arrived! It’s so nice to see both familiar and new faces at the courts. We’re ready for another great season to remember!

San Carlos Pickleball Club – Construction Update

Construction continues full steam ahead! The center area is almost ready,

the shade structures and Cool Zone are built, just awaiting final details and now we move on to the next big project. One highly anticipated improvement is our parking lot area, made possible thanks to our newest partner, Roca Concretos, who worked on the project and generously provided a significant in-kind discount. They will also be featured as sponsors in some of our GLP events. We truly appreciate their support.

The momentum is real — and we couldn’t have done it without YOU! 👏 A Huge thanks to our incredible members — your energy, donations, and unwavering support are turning this dream into reality. This new space is for all of us to enjoy, and it’s a true testament to what we can accomplish together. 💫

✨Skechers Pickleball Tour Mexico 2025

San Carlos Pickleball Club has been invited to co-host with Elevate Sports the closing leg of one of the most prestigious tours in the country, offering some of the biggest prizes of the year!

As part of this exciting partnership, Senior Men, Women Mix +50, and Super Senior +65 categories were added specifically for our community — a rare addition not typically included in the tour’s format. However, to keep these categories active, a minimum of 7 couples need to be registered TODAY – Friday, November 28!

Let’s get ready to rally, represent, and celebrate this milestone for our San Carlos pickleball family! 💪🏽🏓🌊 🏓🔥

🕔 Start Time: 5:30pm (doors open at 5:15pm)
📍 Venue: La Palapa Griega (outdoors but there are space heaters). Dress in your favorite Holiday or Pickleball gear.

🍽️ There will be two Dinner Options — choose your favorite:
🥩 BBQ Baby Back Ribs (3/4 rack), served with a baked potato and Greek salad.
🌮 Shrimp Tacos Gobernador on flour tortillas, served with salsa and guacamole.
🎂 Dessert: Festive cake served to all guests.
🍸 Cash Bar: La Palapa Griega is offering a 20% discount on all drinks!
🎶 Live Music by Sensa Nova from 5:30pm – 8:30pm.

Enrique will start selling tickets on Monday, December 1st at the courts. Please give him exact cash for your ticket(s).

Feel free to invite your family and friends to what promises to be a fun-filled evening.

You will get a red ticket for the Ribs meal, or a green ticket for the Shrimp Taco meal.
These tickets are numbered so we can give a tally to the restaurant. Buy yours in advance as they will not be sold at the door on the day of the party.

Please bring your tickets to the event on December 11.

Note that this is not going to be our big Fundraiser — we will hold that in the New Year.

Important Pickleball Nominations

✨VOTE BEFORE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH 🗓
Cero Cero Dos — a Mexican pickleball brand from Mexico City — created the first-ever awards to celebrate and recognize the best of our sport in 2025.

These awards include categories such as “Rising Star,” “Best Pickleball Club,” “Female Pickleball Player of the Year,” and more. A few days ago, voting opened for people to submit their nominations for athletes and favorite clubs. From there, the top 5 most-voted nominees were selected to move on to the final contest.

With great pride, San Carlos Pickleball Club was one of the most mentioned responses and is now nominated among the best in the country! Even more exciting, our dear Mariana Fortes has been nominated for “Female Pickleball Player of the Year.”

We invite all of you to vote for these two categories. With your support, we hope to bring these awards home to San Carlos. We know we can achieve it thanks to our amazing community!

Recap of the first Pickleball Events of the Season

Oktoberfest 2025

We kicked off our snowbird season with an amazing GLP Oktoberfest — and our first-ever toast at the new center area. Though it was still awaiting its final touches, we were already filled with pride and joy as we started making the first of many memories there. Congratulations to all the players and to the medalists who made it to the podium!

Catrina Cup 2025

Our first Catrina Cup was an absolute blast! From the body paint to the incredible matches to the friendships we built — what an experience! Congrats to all the players and to the winners who took a Catrina Cup home!

Friendsgiving Chef Festival 2025

A total success — the 3rd annual “Friendsgiving Chef Festival San Carlos” wowed everyone! People are still talking about how amazing it was, how delicious everything tasted, the incredible atmosphere with music and cheering, and how meaningful it felt to support the pickleball kids’ program. 💛

Fitness Classes & Pickleball Workshops

Pickle Fit classes

New this year, Pickle Fit classes are a way for you to work on your pickleball-specific fitness! The classes focus on improving strength, power, agility and speed. You can expect improved reaction time, quicker court coverage, greater endurance and fewer aches and pains if you regularly complete structured pickleball fitness training. Ultimately, doing so will allow you to improve your health, spend more time on the court, compete at a higher level, and get even more enjoyment playing the sport you love. The class schedule is as follows:

* Speed Endurance, Monday (8:00am – 9:00am): On court intervals that train you to repeat hard efforts with proper footwork. Maximum effort but with long recovery periods so you can give it your all!

* Strength & Mobility, Wednesday (8:00am – 9:00am): Build joint-friendly mobility and functional strength tailored to pickleball’s demands. Sessions balance dynamic warm-ups with focused strength and flexibility work so you move better and stay resilient on court.

* Agility & Power, Friday (8:00am – 9:00am): Short, explosive efforts to sharpen first-step quickness and shot-making power. Work periods are short with full recovery so every effort is fast and powerful.

To register for a class, please message (WhatsApp, text) or call Kevin at +52 622 147 2979. The price is 100 pesos per class (one hour), 450 pesos for a five-class pass, and 800 pesos for a ten-class pass (Pickle Smart Academy members receive a discount).

Pickleball Workshops

Workshops are in-depth, theme-based sessions designed to enhance a particular aspect of your game. Each workshop is 1.5 hours long and includes group discussion and custom drills. You’ll receive a comprehensive handout that includes all of the workshop’s content.

The workshop curricula includes 14 workshops within different streams (coverage, shots, strategy). Weekly workshops are scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1:30pm – 3:00pm (except during holidays and when other events conflict).

Táctica Tuesday for the whole family

🎯 Táctica Tuesday offers the best weekly competition experience among friends, with fun and competitive games, featuring courts for all skill levels, in a family-friendly environment… and with the most spectacular sunsets!

Already 734 players have been a part of Táctica’s history — let´s go for more!

⏰ Schedule: Every Tuesday at 7:00pm
⏳ Duration: Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours
📍Only at San Carlos Pickleball Club

Are you Ready to Learn Pickleball?

Join a vibrant and welcoming community! We are excited to welcome new players who join our all day membership and night events  like Táctica Tuesday. To help everyone feel comfortable and fully understand the game, we offer beginner classes (in both Spanish and English):

Court Schedule and Activities

Check out our weekly Event Calendar for November and December. As the weather starts to cool down, some groups will be adjusted.

Walk-in events:

• Open Play – Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 11:00am. Courts are divided into self-rated groups: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Paddle Stacking within each group. Free to members.
• Sorteo Sundays – Sundays at 8:00am (be there by 7:45am). First come – first served for all skills levels, limited to 70 people. Free to members.
• Hot Shots – Wednesday from 8:00am to 10:30am. Ladies Round Robin open to all skill levels. First come – first served; limited to 31 players. Free to members.
• Pickleball Pals – Mondays and Fridays at 8:30am. Mixed round robin.

Events that you need to Register for in advance:

• Táctica Tuesday (skill-based Round Robin) – 7:00pm (arrive by 6:45pm). Cost is 100 pesos for members and 150 pesos for non-members.
• Dinking Divas – Ladies Round Robin. 3.5 and above skill level. Free to members, but you need to register weekly on WhatsApp.
• AAA – Organized group for players Advanced players over 3.75 skill level. Ask Al Dadswell to be added to the WhatsApp group. Free to members.Ask Darren to add you to the groups or scan the QR codes above. 🎯

Anytime a court isn’t reserved for scheduled play, it can be reserved for private play using Court Reserve.
